About the displays

How many medals does a display hold?

It depends on the design. Our displays hold between 15 and 29 medals. The Traditional Medal Display Shield holds the most (29). The GAA crossed hurls, Football & Crossed Hurls, jersey and rugby ball displays hold 25. The Irish Dancing Dress display holds 20, and the Irish Dancing Shoe and Waistcoat displays hold 16. The number of hooks is listed on every product page.

What sizes are the displays?

Every display is cut from 18mm (0.7″) thick wood. Sizes range from 40cm x 20cm for the Running Medal & Ribbon Display to 54cm x 50cm for the GAA crossed hurls and sliotar designs. The exact size of each design is on its product page.

How does the display hang on the wall?

There’s a keyhole slot cut into the back, so the display hangs neatly flush against the wall, with no wires or brackets on show. A wall fixing isn’t included, so you’ll need a screw or nail suited to your wall.

What is it made of?

Each display is handmade in our workshop in Mountmellick, Co. Laois from 18mm wood, available in an oak-stained or white finish depending on the design. It is sprayed and sealed for a lasting satin finish, with gold-coloured hooks and a gold-finish nameplate.

Which display should I choose?

Choose by sport or activity first, then by how many medals you have now and expect to win. Our guide to choosing a medal display walks through every option.

Who makes the displays?

Emerald Time Pieces is a family business in Mountmellick, Co. Laois, and every display is handmade by Danny. The business began as a clock maker, which is where the name comes from, and has been making medal displays for around 20 years.

Engraving

Is engraving really free?

Yes. Every display comes with a gold-finish nameplate set into the wood, and we engrave it with your personalised text at no extra cost.

How do I make sure the name is spelled right?

We can engrave fadas, and we engrave exactly what you type, so please check spelling, fadas and dates before you order. If you spot a mistake, email info@emeraldtimepieces.ie as soon as you can. We can change it any time before we start making your display, but once a nameplate is engraved it can’t be changed.

Delivery

How long does it take to arrive?

Every display is made to order and ships within 10 working days.

How much is delivery?

Delivery is €10 per order to Ireland (including Northern Ireland) and the UK, and €20 per order to the USA. For anywhere else, get in touch and we’ll let you know if we can deliver. Orders sent outside the EU may be subject to import duties or taxes, which are paid by the customer.

Do you deliver to the USA?

Yes, we deliver to the USA. Displays are made to order and ship within 10 working days, so allow extra time for transatlantic post if you need it for a feis, championship or birthday. Import duties or taxes, if any, are paid by the customer.

When should I order for Christmas?

Because every display is made to order and ships within 10 working days, it’s best to order early.

Returns, payment and bulk orders

Can I return a display?

Because engraved displays are made specially for you, they can’t be returned for a change of mind. If your display arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, the Emerald Promise applies: we’ll repair it, replace it or refund you, and cover the cost of sending it back. Email info@emeraldtimepieces.ie with your order number and a photo, ideally within 7 days of delivery.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. You can pay in 3 interest-free instalments with Klarna at checkout.

Do you take club, school or team orders?
